From 20 to 24 October 2009, NISB organised a seminar in Egmond aan Zee with An Active Lifestyle as its central theme.
A total of 50 people took part – 22 youngsters, 20 youth workers and 8 representatives from national sports organisations in Romania, Poland, Italy, Estonia, Latvia, the Netherlands, Finland and Austria. Participants exchanged knowledge about the active participation of young people, an active lifestyle and ‘what to do with inactive youngsters’. This took the form of presentations, workshops and discussions. Each day started with a 30-minute exercise session organised by the youngsters themselves.
One of the highlights was a visit to the project ‘Youth in Charge" in the Westerpark district of Amsterdam. A film had been made specially for this project and the local youth had organised a sports event for all participants at Zaandammerplein, a Richard Kraijcek Playground.
